Season Two

It’s been a year and eight days since Nathan and I first came up with the idea for Tangents. We made some rules for ourselves (I’ll let you be the judge of how well we followed them) and gave ourselves the goal of posting at least once a week. We did pretty well with that in the spring semester, and maybe not so well in the fall (we wrote two posts…) but the good news is we’re back and we’ve come up with a whole new list of goals to attempt this semester!

Season Two of a show is kind of the make-or-break moment. You watch the first season and start to get a feel for the show, maybe giving it some leeway since it’s just starting out. You might get pulled in, but you’re not necessarily committed. Season Two is where you decide whether or not you’re in it for the long haul–and the creators of the show have to figure out whether or not they can continue this idea that they’ve finally brought to light.

Horizon

Wonderful things are on the horizon for Tangents.

This lovely article about goals confirms what you might already know–you are more likely to accomplish goals if you share them. Thus, it only feels right that we share our goals with you. Here are the first three we’ve come up with, make sure we stick to them:

1. Post twice by the 19th of January. (If Nathan posts his draft today, we did it!)

2. Make at least one podcast by February 28th.

3. Attempt to post at least once a week.

I think that’s a nice, reasonable start. Welcome to Season Two–hopefully you’ll be in for the long haul.
